Terms
Last updated 12 August 2026. MantaIQ, publisher of Cal.
These terms govern your use of Cal and of this website. They are written to be read. Where a term would normally be buried, it is in a box.
A licence to run Cal on computers you control, for as long as your subscription is active. Cal is software you install; it is not a hosted service, and we do not operate a server that holds your work.
The licence is non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable if you breach these terms. You may install it on more than one machine you control. You may not resell it, sublicense it, or offer it to others as a service without a separate written agreement.
We claim no ownership of anything you create with Cal — not your posts, your reports, your images, your metrics, or the exports you deliver to your own clients. We could not claim it meaningfully in any case, because it never reaches us.
You may export everything at any time, subscribed or not, from Settings → Workspace. If your subscription ends, that export continues to work: the software is what a subscription pays for, not access to your own records.
Cal is billed monthly through Stripe. The price follows the size of your connected audience, in bands, recalculated monthly. It starts at $19.95 per month and is capped at $49.95 per month regardless of how large your audience becomes. A platform we cannot verify counts as zero, so an unverified account can only ever lower your price.
A tier change takes effect at your next renewal. Nothing is charged mid-cycle for moving between tiers.
New accounts may receive a 7-day free trial. One per account. It cannot be restarted or extended, and it does not convert into a paid subscription automatically — you subscribe deliberately or access pauses.
You may cancel at any time from Settings → Plan and billing. Access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not issue refunds for a partial month, because cancelling stops the next charge rather than clawing back the last one.
Access pauses. Your data is untouched and returns in full the moment a payment succeeds. We do not delete anything for non-payment, ever.
EU, UK and other statutory cancellation rights. If you are a consumer in the UK or EU you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract. Where that right applies to you it is unaffected by anything above. Contact support@mantaiq.com and we will honour it.
Cal reads data only from platform APIs you have personally authorised, using your own credentials. It does not scrape, and it does not access any account you have not connected.
Nothing is published without your explicit action. Scheduling a post requires you to arm it; replying to a message requires you to send it. This is a design property of the software, not merely a policy.
You remain responsible for what you publish through Cal, and for complying with the terms of every platform you connect. If a platform suspends your account for what you posted, that is between you and them.
Cal reports figures the platforms give it. Where a platform withholds a metric, Cal shows a gap rather than an estimate. Forecasts, survival curves and observed patterns are statistical statements about the past, presented with their uncertainty, and are not guarantees about the future.
Cal does not give you business, legal, financial or marketing advice. It is an instrument. Decisions taken on the strength of what it shows you are yours.
Cal connects to services operated by other companies — Meta, X, LinkedIn, Google, TikTok, Threads and Stripe among them. We do not control those services. If one changes its API, restricts a feature, or discontinues access, the corresponding part of Cal may stop working through no fault of either of us. We will say so plainly when it happens rather than quietly showing you stale numbers.
Cal checks for updates and can install them with your agreement. Every release is cryptographically signed, and an installation refuses any update it cannot verify. We may end support for older versions; we will not disable a version you have already installed.
You agree not to use Cal to break the law, to breach a platform’s terms, to harass anyone, to send unsolicited bulk messages, or to publish content you have no right to publish. You agree not to reverse engineer the software except to the extent that restriction is unenforceable where you live.
Cal is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose.
What this does not limit. Nothing here excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded — including the statutory rights of consumers in the UK, EU, Australia and elsewhere, which override anything in this section that conflicts with them.
You may stop at any time by cancelling. We may suspend or end your licence if you materially breach these terms, and we will tell you why. In either case you keep the ability to export your data, because it is yours.
We may revise these terms. If a change materially affects your rights we will give you notice by email before it takes effect, and continuing to use Cal after that date means you accept it. If you do not, cancel and the change never applies to you.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your country of residence, nor of the right to bring proceedings there.
